چکیده

In this paper, we address a strategic planning problem for a three-stage productiondistribution network. The problem under consideration is a singleitem, multi-supplier, multi-producer and multi-distributor production-distribution network with deterministic demand. The objective is to minimize the costs associated with production, transportation and inventory as well as capacity expansion costs over a given time horizon. The limitations are the production capacities of the suppliers and producers, and transportation capacities of the corresponding transportation network. On the other hand, all capacities may be increased at a fixed cost. The problem is formulated as a 0-1 mixed integer programming model. Since the problem is intractable for real life cases efficient relaxation-based heuristics are considered to obtain a good feasible solution.

Solving multi-stage stochastic in-house production and outsourcing planning by two-level decomposition

In-house production or outsourcing are important strategic decisions for planning production and capacity in business organizations. Outsourcing to overseas suppliers is often associated with risk with respect to the quality of the products. Hence, we developed a multi-stage stochastic programming model that takes into account the uncertainty involved in the production of the quality of outsour...

A Branch and Bound Algorithm Based on DC Programming and DCA for Strategic Capacity Planning in Supply Chain Design for a New Market Opportunity

This paper addresses the problem of supply chain design at the strategic level when production/distribution of a new market opportunity has to be launched in an existing supply chain. The new market opportunity is characterized by a deterministic forecast expected to occur per period. The product (or service) is assumed to be produced (or provided) in a three-stage capacitated supply chain wher...

Dynamic Planning the Expansion of Electric Energy Distribution Systems Considering Distributed Generation Resources in the Presence of Power Demand Uncertainty

In this paper, a new strategy based on a dynamic (time-based) model is proposed for expansion planning of electrical energy distribution systems, taking into account distributed generation resources and advantage of the techno-economic approach. In addition to optimal placement and capacity, the proposed model is able to determine the timing of installation / reinforcement of expansion options....

A queuing-location model for in multi-product supply chain with lead time under uncertainty

Supply chain network design (SCND) problem has recently been gaining attention because an integrated management of the supply chain (SC) can reduce the unexpected/undesirable events and can affect definitely the efficiency of all the chain. A critical component of the planning activities of a manufacturing firm is the efficient design of its SC. Hence, SCND affords a sensitive platform for effi...

Toward a Smart Distribution System Expansion Planning by Considering Demand Response Resources

This paper presents a novel concept of "smart distribution system expansion planning (SDEP)" which expands the concept of demand response programs to be dealt with the long term horizon time. The proposed framework, integrates demand response resources (DRRs) as virtual distributed generation (VDG) resources into the distribution expansion planning. The main aim of this paper is to develop and ...
